Meet Your Coaches

Our Coaches

Your coaches live here, train here, and genuinely care how your workout goes. Village Strength Studio is a small group strength training gym in Midtown Kingston — built for people who want real coaching.

Each coach, different style. Same standard.

Sam

She built Village Strength Studio from a lifelong connection to sport—and a clear understanding of what good training should feel like.

With a Kinesiology degree from Acadia University and a background in varsity basketball and soccer, she’s always been drawn to movement, structure, and showing up consistently. As a chiropractor, she understands how the body works—and how strength plays a central role in keeping it moving well long-term.

Her coaching is equal parts grounded and motivating. She knows when to push, when to ease off, and how to help people build strength without overcomplicating it.

Village reflects that. It’s a space where the work is real, the energy is easy, and you don’t have to prove anything to be here. You just show up and get to it.

Ellie

Our #1 sports fan - Coach Ellie loves watching sports almost as much as she loves playing them. A previous Academic All-Canadian multi-sport varsity athlete, Ellie thrives on going to bed early, Elm lattes, and giving back to the fitness community where she feels most at home. A CrossFitter, basketball player and Toronto Tempo season ticket holder, she can usually be found in a gym.

As the Co-Founder and Head Coach at Village Strength Studio Ellie loves creating an environment where it’s easy for people to show up, do the work, and surprise themselves. A CrossFit Level 1 (CF-L1) coach and NCCP basketball coach, she has over a decade of coaching experience and can’t wait to help show you how strong you are!

Nick

Coaching since 2012, he’s helped people from all kinds of backgrounds build strength, confidence, and resilience.

With a Kinesiology degree from York University and a past life as a York Lions running back, his approach blends experience, education, and a real connection to training.

His work with older adults has become a major focus—after seeing firsthand how strength training can improve independence, confidence, and quality of life.

Warm, encouraging, and highly personalized, his coaching is all about building strength that carries into everyday life.

Neve

Always in motion—and rarely sitting still.

With over 15 years of experience in Pilates and movement, plus a Kinesiology degree and full STOTT certification, she brings both depth and energy to every class.

Outside the studio, she’s a busy mom of three, often adventuring with her toddler, cooking something great, squeezing in a workout, or hiking with her two dogs.

For her, movement isn’t just exercise—it’s a lifestyle, and she loves helping others find that same rhythm in their own way.

Nikki

Outdoor enthusiast, strength specialist, and your go-to for turning “terrifying” fitness goals into something actually doable.

When she’s not recharging outside, she’s building functional strength that carries into real life.

Her coaching blends evidence-based training with just enough chaotic energy to keep things interesting—and effective.

Whether it’s heavy weights or heavy days, she’s here to help you take up space, trust your strength, and realize you’re capable of more than you think.

Stacey

Drawn to challenge, movement, and trying new things—always.

She grew up in martial arts and went on to compete at the world level, building a deep appreciation for discipline and consistency along the way.

Now coaching athletes across soccer, volleyball, and basketball, she’s the type who gets genuinely excited watching people push past what they thought they could do.

When she’s not in the gym, she’s outside—hiking, camping, or planning her next trip (Machu Picchu is on deck). A “say yes first, figure it out later” mindset, with a strong belief that most things are better with fresh air and movement.

Alex

A longtime yoga instructor with a strong connection to both strength and movement.

She brings a balance of control and intensity to her classes—pulling from her experience in both yoga and CrossFit to create sessions that feel grounded, challenging, and approachable.

She’s naturally drawn to people and connection, creating a space that feels welcoming without losing focus on the work.

Jasmine

A lifelong connection to movement, backed by a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from St. Lawrence College.

With years of experience in boxing, CrossFit, and rugby, she brings a well-rounded, athletic foundation into every session.

Her coaching style is grounded and supportive—focused on helping people build strength and confidence in a way that actually feels sustainable.

She also has a strong love for the outdoors, which continues to shape how she moves and lives.

Jordyn

An Ice Wolves alum and proud hometown return, she brings a high-energy, team-first mindset into everything she does.

Currently studying at McGill University while playing women’s ice hockey, she’s working toward a future in elementary education—something that shows up clearly in how she connects, coaches, and leads.

She thrives on hard work (and the people who show up for it), creating classes that feel both fun and challenging in the right ways.

Big fan of iced coffee, pizza, and watching people surprise themselves—in the best way.

Amber

A lifelong athlete with a strong connection to basketball—and movement in all forms.

When she’s not on the court, she’s running, hiking, cycling, or skiing. Staying active is part of who she is, but just as important is keeping it enjoyable and sustainable.

Her approach to coaching is simple: show up, put in the work, and keep it real. No pressure, no extra noise—just creating a space where people can move, feel good doing it, and build confidence along the way.

Kevin

If there’s a group heading out for a run, he’s already there warming up.

After coming back from a brain injury to run a 2:20 marathon, he hasn’t really slowed down since. He coaches runners globally through Mile2Marathon and leads weekly community runs in Kingston where all paces are genuinely welcome.

His strength sessions are built around what runners actually need—single-leg work, core stability, and the kind of durability that keeps you moving well all the way to the finish line.

He’ll show up having already checked the wind, the hourly temps, and the humidex—and will absolutely have the newest electrolyte or energy bar you’ve never heard of (yet).

Maggie

A former Division I basketball player, shaped by the game and everything that comes with it.

Through injuries and setbacks, she’s built resilience and perspective that now carry into how she coaches and shows up for others.

When she’s not playing, she’s coaching, mentoring, or teaching. As an elementary educator in Kingston, she’s just as committed to supporting the next generation in the classroom as she is in training.

She brings energy, leadership, and a genuine investment in helping people grow—on and off the court.

Cierra

“Little Villagers” Play Group Lead

The kind of person kids warm up to quickly—and parents feel good leaving them with.

With over four years of experience as a program lead with the YMCA’s after-school program and a B.A. in Child Studies from Carleton University, she brings both structure and ease to everything she does.

Her approach is simple: create a space where kids feel comfortable, so Village Hour runs smoothly for everyone—keeping them engaged, curious, and having fun along the way.

While you’re in class, your “little villagers” are in good hands.
